Choose an injection site as directed by your health care provider. Common sites for intramuscular injections include the hip (upper, outer quadrant of the buttocks), and the outer area of the mid thigh. For this injection the upper outer quadrant of the buttocks will be demonstrated.

Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and allow to air-dry. You should alternate injection sites each day.
